Privacy Policy

Dor Resort Village (hereinafter: “the Resort” or “we”) attaches great importance to protecting the privacy of its customers.

This privacy policy has been adopted by Dor Resort Village regarding the collection and distribution of information (“Privacy Policy”).

  1. Scope of Policy

The Privacy Policy details the types of personal information as well as other information (as defined below) that the Resort collects about:

  1. Visitors to the Resort – including, but not limited to: guests, visitors, companions, club members, guests of any of the above, and any other person seeking to enter the Resort premises and/or stay at the Resort and/or use the Resort facilities and/or visit another person staying or present at the Resort premises, users and/or those requesting to use the services offered by the Resort
  2. Website visitors as defined below and/or application users as defined below
  3. Those contacting the Resort in any manner including by telephone
  4. Social media page visitors

(Sections 1-4 above, hereinafter: “Users”)

The policy details how the Resort collects the information; and specifies what use the Resort makes of the information including storage of the information, its processing, transfer to third parties, and more.

Where the terms “you” or “your” appear in this privacy policy, they refer to all users of the services (as defined below) and the personal information and other information (as defined below) relating to such users.

  1. Methods of Information Collection

The Resort collects personal information and other information (as defined below) through:

  1. Internet websites operated by the Resort from which you access this privacy policy (the websites shall hereinafter be referred to collectively as “the Websites”)
  2. Applications that the Resort makes available for your use on computers or mobile devices (hereinafter: “the Applications”)
  3. Social media pages owned and controlled by the Resort (hereinafter collectively: “Social Media Pages”)
  4. When you visit or stay as guests at the Resort or through other offline interaction with the Resort (such as calling the telephone center and/or calling the reservations center)

The Websites, Applications and Social Media Pages shall be referred to collectively as “Online Services” and together with offline channels – “the Services”.

By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this privacy policy. Please read the privacy policy carefully.

The Resort serves as the Data Controller of your personal information.

The information you have provided or will provide to the Resort, whether orally or in writing, depends on your consent and will and does not arise from a legal obligation.

However, if you do not provide the Resort with the information or if you do not allow the Resort to collect such information, the Resort will not be able to provide you with the services.

  1. Collection of Personal Information and Other Information

3.1 Personal Information

“Personal Information” means data that identifies you as an individual or relates to a specific person.

The Resort collects personal information such as:

  • Contact details: name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, passport number, ID number, photograph and/or identification document for identification purposes (if required)
  • Payment information: payment card (digits and expiration date according to PCI DSS rules), billing address and bank account number
  • Demographic data: age, gender, residential address, citizenship, and preferred language
  • Information about family members and companions: such as names and ages of children
  • Information regarding your reservation: arrival and departure dates, goods and services purchased, personal preferences (as defined below), telephone calls made
  • Information required to fulfill special requests: preferences, leisure activities, companion’s name, number of children and their ages
  • Personal preferences: areas of interest, activities, hobbies, food and beverage choices, services and requests you have notified the Resort about or preferences learned about you during your visit
  • Information related to customer club members
  • Geographical location or other location-based information
  • Photographs: collected during user creation or subsequently updated by the user (uploading a photo is not mandatory and is not used)
  • Images, video and audio: collected through security cameras located in public areas of the Resort, such as hallways, lobby, parking lots (CCTV closed-circuit television systems and electronic key cards)

3.2 Other Information

“Other Information” – means data that does not reveal your personal and specific identity and does not relate to a specific person.

The Resort collects other information such as: browser and mobile device data including IP address and data collected by “cookies”, pixel tags and other technologies, aggregate data regarding guest stays at the Resort, and responses to promotional offers and surveys.

In certain cases, the Resort combines personal information with other information (such as combining the guest’s name and location). In such cases, the Resort will treat such combined information as personal information as long as the information is combined.

3.3 Information about Third Parties

If you provide information to the Resort and/or to the Resort’s service providers that includes personal information about third parties (for example – if you make a reservation for another person and/or book accommodation that will also serve guests on your behalf and/or receive and/or invite companions/visitors to stay with you at the Resort premises), you declare that you have obtained the consent of the third party to provide such information and you are authorized to do so, and that the third party allows the Resort to use the information in accordance with the provisions of this privacy policy.

  1. How Personal Information and Other Information Are Collected

Personal information and other information are collected as follows:

4.1 Online Services

When making a reservation, purchasing goods or services, contacting the Resort and its representatives in any manner, posting on social media pages, joining a mailing list or participating in surveys, feedback, contests or marketing offers, and when applying for employment at the Resort.

4.2 Visits and Offline Interaction

When visiting the Resort, staying as a guest, as a companion to a guest, and when using services offered by the Resort. Additionally, personal information is also collected when you participate in promotional marketing events as guests of the Resort and/or at promotional events that the Resort hosts or when you provide personal information as part of promoting a sales event. Personal information about you is also collected through a closed-circuit camera system installed for security purposes in public areas, through electronic key cards, and through other security systems.

4.3 Other Sources

Personal information is also received from third parties including information from travel agents, customer club programs, credit card companies, government authorities (to comply with legal requirements), survey companies, various service providers of the Resort.

4.4 Automatic Information

When you use the Websites and/or use the Applications as defined above, the Resort receives and stores information regarding activity on the Websites and Applications, and additional automatic information is collected from the browser and mobile device. For example, as is customary on other websites, the Resort receives certain information when your browser accesses the Website including information regarding IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile network data, pages viewed and browsing times. This information is used by the Resort in communicating and providing services to customers.

4.5 Aggregated Information

Information that does not identify you or any other user personally.

4.6 Customer Service Centers

When you make a telephone reservation, contact the Resort via email, fax, online chat or through customer service. This communication may be recorded for quality assurance and training purposes.

  1. Purposes of Collection, Use of Personal Information and Other Information

The Resort uses personal information and other information for the following purposes, one or more:

5.1 Processing Reservations and Purchases

The Resort processes information related to transactions you have entered into with the Resort including through the Websites (hereinafter: “transaction data”). Transaction data will be processed to complete the reservation, supply products and services, adapt services provided by the Resort to your preferences, receive feedback about the stay at the Resort, and maintain records of such transactions.

5.2 Guest Relations

In order to offer services based on your preferences, information is collected before and during your stay at the Resort. The information may be used for customer club events that we may hold from time to time alone or with partners or by our partners.

5.3 Responses to Inquiries

The Resort processes information regarding user inquiries regarding the services (hereinafter: “inquiry data”). Inquiry data includes the content of the inquiry and metadata related to the inquiry (such as groups, meetings and events). Inquiry data will be processed for communication with you and record keeping.

5.4 Business Purposes

The Resort processes information for business purposes including: developing new products, improving the Website, improving services, identifying usage trends and guest visit patterns, determining promotional effectiveness, evaluating third party performance (such as travel agents), forecasting revenue and occupancy, and meeting commitments.

5.5 Administrative and Other Communications

Sending information about the Website, changes in terms of use, changes in privacy policy or other administrative information (for example – information about reservations you made such as confirmation emails and more).

5.6 Marketing and Promotion

Sending marketing messages and promotions regarding the Resort and related products and services that the Resort believes will interest you; including spa and gym services, bars, restaurants, recreational activities and more.

5.7 Website Operations

Operating, developing, improving and managing the Resort’s website, as well as improving service and adapting it to the customer.

5.8 Safety and Security

Maintaining your health and safety as well as that of other guests and the Resort staff during the stay at the Resort.

5.9 Legal Obligations

To comply with legal requirements including laws, regulations, guidelines and legal proceedings.

5.10 Statistical Calculations

The Resort may use the personal information and other information, all or part of it, to perform certain statistical calculations, some of which will be presented in applications, websites and/or other services; provided that these will not include identifying information.

7.1 Related Companies

To any related company of the Resort, in order to provide a better hospitality experience based on your personal preferences and experience accumulated regarding the use of services provided to you by the Resort in your previous visits.

7.2 Representatives and Travel Agents

To a representative or travel agent who provided the Resort with personal information about guests (for example – travel agent, companion, employer or spouse).

7.3 Service Providers

To various service providers of the Resort. Examples of service providers include IT service providers, legal advisors, accountants, payment service providers, and more.

7.4 Business Partners

To business partners of the Resort in marketing and advertising in order to publish relevant advertisements to website users and encourage users to return and visit the website. These partners will not use personal information for any other purpose except for direct marketing as stated, and in any case you will always have the right to object to such use.

7.5 Mergers and Acquisitions

The Resort may transfer personal information and other information about you to third parties in the event of reorganization, merger, sale of assets or shares of the Resort, joint venture, assignment of rights and/or obligations, transfer or other disposition in the Resort’s business and assets, all or part of them (including liquidation and similar proceedings).

7.6 Insurance Agencies

Transfer of information to insurance agencies and/or insurance companies with which the Resort works in order to handle guest inquiries.

7.7 Suppliers and Service Providers

To suppliers and service providers of the Resort, among other things to enable and/or improve the Website and browsing experience, to adapt it to the user experience.

7.8 Additional Cases

The Resort may disclose personal information and other information if found necessary:

  • To comply with legal requirements
  • To comply with court orders in legal proceedings
  • To respond to requests and inquiries from public or governmental authorities
  • To enforce terms of use
  • To protect the Resort’s business
  • To protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of the Resort, guests, service users and others
  • To enable the Resort to pursue remedies it is entitled to under law and/or contract and to minimize its damages
  1. Cross-Border Information Transfer

As a rule, information processing is carried out within the borders of the State of Israel. Information processing performed by third parties or cloud services may be performed on servers around the world such as Microsoft Azure servers or Microsoft 365 servers, Amazon servers and the like.

However, some information may be stored in the cloud outside the borders of the State of Israel or the Union. The operator of these services has undertaken to comply with GDPR provisions. In such specific cases, the Resort ensures that appropriate measures are taken to secure personal information at an appropriate level of protection.

  1. Rights of Data Subjects in the European Union

If you are domiciled in the Union, the following provisions apply to you:

9.1 Right to Receive Information

We strive to provide you with concise, transparent, clear, simple and easily accessible information about the conditions of personal information processing.

9.2 Right to Access, Correct or Delete

We enable you to receive confirmation from us whether your personal information is being processed and details about the conditions of such processing, as well as to receive an electronic copy of such information.

9.3 Right to Correct Personal Data

9.4 Right to Request Deletion of Personal Information

Subject to all applicable laws and when the following conditions are met:

  • Personal information is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, stored and processed
  • You request to withdraw your consent on the basis of which personal information was processed and there is no other basis justifying processing of personal information
  • You believe and can substantiate the claim that unlawful processing of personal information has been performed
  • Personal information will be deleted in accordance with the Resort’s obligation under applicable law

9.5 Right to Restrict Processing

This right is available to you in several cases, particularly in the following cases:

  • In case of dispute regarding the accuracy of personal information
  • If you believe and can substantiate the claim that personal information processing is unlawful but you object to deletion of personal information and instead require restriction of processing
  • When the company no longer needs personal information but you need the personal information to exercise, establish or defend your rights
  • When the decision regarding the Resort’s legitimate interest outweighs your interests as the data subject

9.6 Right to Data Portability

If the basis for processing personal information is consent or contract, you are entitled to receive the personal information you provided to the Resort in a standard format and transfer this information to another controller.

9.7 Right to Withdraw Consent

When the basis for processing personal information is consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time through the means provided for this purpose (as detailed in this privacy policy below). Note that withdrawal of consent applies only to the future and does not apply to information processed before withdrawal of consent. For the avoidance of doubt, it is clarified that withdrawal of consent will not question the legality of personal information processing performed before withdrawal of such consent.

9.8 Right to Decide on Fate of Personal Information After Death

You may decide regarding the fate of personal information after death by providing general or specific instructions. The Resort is obligated to respect these instructions. In the absence of instructions, the Resort recognizes the possibility that heirs may exercise certain rights, particularly the right to access personal information if required for the rights of the deceased’s estate; the right to object to closing the deceased’s user accounts; and the right to object to processing the deceased’s information.

9.9 Right to File a Complaint

If despite the Resort’s efforts to maintain confidentiality and privacy of personal information you feel your rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the relevant privacy protection authority. A list of authorities is available on the European Commission website.

  1. Rights for Those Outside the European Union

If you are domiciled outside the Union (including Israel), your right to review and correct information stored in the Resort’s databases is in accordance with Israeli law provisions including the provisions of the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981.

  1. Information Security

The Resort takes reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect personal information regarding unauthorized access, disclosure and exposure of information, deletion or alteration of information, accidental loss of information, misuse or damage. The Resort conducts review and monitoring activities at appropriate intervals regarding such protection and security measures.

When required to disclose or transfer personal information to third parties and authorized users, the Resort will ensure that those third parties commit to an appropriate and suitable level of information protection. The Resort requires contractual commitments from third parties that personal information will be processed only for the purposes to which you have consented and in accordance with the required level of confidentiality and security.

If you have reason to believe that your communication with the Resort is not secure, please contact us immediately as detailed in the “Contact Us” section below. It should be noted that the Resort cannot guarantee that its servers will be completely immune to unauthorized access to information stored on them. Therefore, the Resort will not be responsible in case of intrusion and/or breach and/or any damage that may be caused beyond the Resort’s control.

  1. Information Retention Period

Subject to all applicable laws, the Resort will retain personal information for the period required to implement and fulfill the following:

  • The purposes for which personal information was provided
  • Business interest of the Resort including record keeping
  • Requirement to retain information that may be relevant to regulatory investigations or legal proceedings
  • Compliance with all laws, regulations, legal proceedings, including court orders and/or disclosure required by governmental and other authorities
  • To fulfill legitimate interest of the Resort and third parties including defense against legal proceedings and more
  1. Sensitive Information

Unless specifically requested, the Resort requests not to provide or disclose in the context of using the services or in any other way any sensitive personal information (for example social security numbers, data relating to race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, ideology or other beliefs, health, biometric or genetic data, criminal history, administrative or criminal proceedings and sanctions imposed in connection with the above).

  1. Use of Services by Minors

The Resort does not knowingly collect personal data from persons under the age of 18.

The Resort collects personal data from persons under the age of 18 as part of the guest registration process, but this is always subject to obtaining consent from the parent or guardian of the minor. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor under the age of 18 and you believe your child is using the website, please notify us immediately. In case of contact as a parent or guardian, we may request personal information from you to prove your identity.

  1. Updates

The Resort may change and update this privacy policy from time to time at its sole discretion without notice. The responsibility for knowing the changes, if any, made to the privacy policy rests solely with the users.

Like many other websites, and in order to improve the user experience on the website and web pages, the Resort uses “cookies”. “Cookies” by themselves do not provide the Resort with personally identifiable information unless the user chose to provide such information (for example by registering for one of the services). These “cookies” are not deleted when the browser is closed but are saved on the device for a fixed period or until deletion.
